Robert W. Schoonover - Homepage

Welcome! On my homepage, you will find information about my research interests and recent papers, as well as some biographical information and useful links to collaborators. I am currently a graduate researcher at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), pursuing a Ph.D in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).

The majority of my research is in theoretical optics, with emphases in statistical optics and singular optics. I am currently finishing up my Ph.D with Prof. P. Scott Carney at UIUC. My research has focused on the the field of statistical optics, specifically in expanding the field to include analysis of pulse trains.

I have already received a Ph.D from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) under Prof. Taco D. Visser. That research was on the topic of singular optics, exploring field topology for different approximations of optical fields.
